John Grassilly:

Maria Aladren was the Assistant Director of a professional production of David Mamet's Speed the Plow that I directed.  We worked closely together for four weeks.  I believe theatre professionals can form a sufficiently clear opinion of a colleague using the answers to two question.  Were you happy to see this person in rehearsal, and would you hire this person to do your job?  As for Maria, my answers are yes, and yes.  If more information is desired, I will be happy to supply as many complimentary adjectives and adverbs necessary to get and keep her in any theatre.  We need people like Maria.

Janis Valdes:

It is my pleasure to write a recommendation for Maria Aladren, whom I have known and worked with in a professional capacity at the Center of Contemporary Arts since the fall of 1995.

Maria is a dynamic teacher of the dramatic arts, using her considerable communication skills to work with each student, whether a child or adult, on his or her level and to direct that student in a way which enables him or her to achieve a great deal in the class.

Maria's broad experience in the theatre both in this country and abroad give her a wonderful base of information from which to draw and this enhances her teaching.  She uses this background to excellent use in creating performance pieces with children which allow them to be very creative and to learn solid acting skills at the same time.  She is very flexible and able to jump in as a substitute when needed, as she has a huge arsenal of theatre exercises, improvisations and games at the ready.

I can recommend Maria Aladren without hesitation to any program or position requiring a high energy, knowledgeable and creative theatre instructor or director.  (I'd like to clone her...)

Sally Bishop:

Supervisors are often asked to provide letters of recommendation for a variety of reasons.  Often it is something done because you obligated.  Rarely is the case that the employee is so outstanding that it provides great pleasure to assist in their pursuit of a dream.  That, however, is the instance in the case of Maria Aladren.

Maria has been an outstanding addition to an already talented professional team.  Creativity is a characteristic that is strongly associated with Maria.  She has a talent for both visually and verbally taking basic information and turning it into a winning presentation.  She does this via computer as well as written word and her level of skill is outstanding.

Maria is comfortable with a variety of equipment and is not intimidated by trying something new in order to complete or enhance a project.  She has never settled for "good enough" and actually challenges herself to surpass previously attained goals on presentations, graphics and other projects.  In this way her creativity has truly been an asset to our clients.  Another impressive characteristic that Maria possesses is her sense of commitment to the successful completion of all she undertakes.  This includes client projects as well as community projects and personal goals.  I have often seen her work overtime in order to complete a project for a client, even though she is not required to do so.  Maria's word is gold in this office and when she gives it there is no question that what she says will happen--will happen!

Amy Pomeroy:

As a Production Manager, Maria Aladren is responsible for a great many tasks, from making sure that the theatre space is clean and ready for patrons to hiring House and Technical staff to budgeting the productions.  In all aspects, she has been a superior worker and manager.  She is able to fairly delegate work to others as well as mop the floor herself when necessary.  She is bright, outgoing, and independent enough to make intelligent choices on her own and wise enough to ask for help when it is needed.

Ms. Aladren's work ethic is outstanding.  She gives one hundred percent to everything that she does.  She instills her passion for life into her work.  Artistically, it has been fascinating to be able to discuss International Theater styles as compared to American Theater with her.  She is full of incredible ideas and has the talent and practical skills to fulfill her dreams.  She is eager to be in an environment that promotes growth and experimentation.
